About this venue
Bayshore Grove in Oswego is one of those venues that genuinely stops people in their tracks. Sitting right on the shores of Lake Ontario, the views here look like something you’d find on the coast, not in Central New York. The outdoor ceremony space features a terra cotta aisle leading up to an elegant pergola, framed by trees with the water stretching out behind you. After the ceremony, the historic ballroom takes over for cocktail hour and the reception. With capacity for up to 1,000 guests and in-house catering, it can handle everything from a small gathering to a full-blown celebration. The venue also has two affiliated hotels on site, so out-of-town guests can walk from the reception to their room.
Why we love it
Sunsets over Lake Ontario. That’s it. That’s the reason. But really, if you’re a couple who has ever said “we want something with a view,” this is your answer. The light that comes off that water during golden hour is the kind of thing that makes photos feel cinematic without trying. We get genuinely excited when we see Bayshore on a timeline.
The pergola is a gorgeous ceremony backdrop on its own, but paired with the lake behind it? You simply cannot go wrong. Every angle works, and that is not something we can say about every venue.
And the climate-controlled ballroom is a bigger deal than couples realize during the planning process. Weather is unpredictable in CNY, and knowing your reception space is going to be comfortable no matter what is a stress you don’t have to carry. Your guests will thank you, and so will we.
