Best View Barn — Munnsville, NY

About this venue

The name is not an exaggeration. Best View Barn in Munnsville sits on 30 acres overlooking the rolling hills, windmills, and valleys of Madison County, and the view genuinely sells itself the moment you pull up the driveway. Originally built in the 1940s, the barn was restored and opened for weddings in 2016 with all the contemporary amenities while keeping that original rustic character intact. The 1,280-square-foot back deck looks out over the property and pond, the bridal suite is spacious and well-appointed, and the venue accepts outside vendors so you have full flexibility over your catering, DJ, and florist. Capacity runs up to 300 guests, and the full venue is yours for the event.

Why we love it

The view. There’s really nothing else like it in CNY. The hills, the windmills in the distance, the open sky — it makes for portraits that look like they belong in a destination wedding magazine, and we’re not even leaving Madison County. Every direction you point a camera is working for you at this venue.

The pond is one of our favorite spots specifically for nighttime shots. That reflection, the soft ambient light, the open sky above it? It creates a completely different mood from the golden hour portraits, and couples are always amazed at what comes out of those few minutes after dark.

And that back deck is such a smart feature. It gives guests a natural place to gather during cocktail hour with that view stretched out in front of them, and for us it creates this great layered backdrop for candid moments that feel relaxed and real.

Kari and the team there are also consistently excellent, multiple reviews back that up, and we’d say the same from our own experience. She genuinely cares about every couple’s day, and that energy translates to how smoothly everything runs.
