Old Hickory Farm in Weedsport is a former horse-riding arena turned wedding venue, and the equine history is woven into every corner of the place in the best way. Polished wooden floors, twinkling patio lights, horseshoes embedded in the bar, mowed paths through hay fields, and six original stables converted into a cocktail lounge area — the details here are genuinely charming. Sitting on 55 acres, the reception space holds up to 250 guests, making it a great option for larger weddings without feeling overwhelming. A dedicated property coordinator is included, both a bridal suite and groom room come stocked with complimentary food and beverages, and there’s a 5-bedroom farmhouse on the property available to rent for the wedding night. Owner Ryan also owns Mooney’s BBQ, so in-house catering is a natural add-on if you want one less vendor to manage.
Why we love it
That dance floor. It is legitimately one of the largest we have seen at a barn venue in CNY, and a big dance floor means a big, energetic reception. Nothing kills the party vibe like a cramped floor where guests can’t actually move, and that is simply not a problem here.
The pond ceremony setup with the arch is one of those backdrops that photographs beautifully at every angle. The rolling pastures behind it, the natural light, the arch framed against the water — it’s classic, romantic, and timeless without needing a lot of extra decoration to pull it off.
And having both a bridal suite and a dedicated groom room is something we genuinely appreciate as a team. We can split up, cover both sides of the getting-ready process at the same time, and the complimentary food and drinks in each suite keeps everyone happy and calm before the ceremony, which always shows.
