About this venue
Ventosa Vineyards in Geneva is a Tuscan-inspired winery sitting right on the shores of Seneca Lake, and it earns every bit of its reputation as one of the top wedding venues in the Finger Lakes. The La Vista e Bella ballroom is 6,000 square feet with hand-painted Tuscan murals, floor-to-ceiling windows, wrought iron chandeliers, and a hand-carved mahogany bar, accommodating up to 280 guests. Ceremonies take place in the covered outdoor pavilion with a raised platform and vineyards and Seneca Lake stretching out behind you. The estate also has a 100-plus year old mansion on property that sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms with 5.5 baths, a sauna and steam room, an outdoor kitchen, and views over the lake and vineyard. Every food package is made fresh the day of your event by an on-site executive chef, and a day-of planner is included with every wedding.
Why we love it
That mansion. We cannot stop talking about it to couples. A 5,100 square foot historic house all to yourself for getting ready is something most venues simply cannot offer, and the natural light, the views, and the sheer amount of space make getting-ready photos feel elevated without doing anything extra. It is one of the most beautiful prep spaces we have ever worked in.
The sunsets over Seneca Lake are in their own category. That golden light coming off the water during the ceremony and portraits is the kind of thing that makes images look like they belong in a magazine. Paired with the big trees on the property as a natural frame, we are always thrilled to be there during that hour.
The coordination team is also consistently excellent. Every detail is handled with care and the day runs smoothly, which as photographers means we can focus on telling your story instead of troubleshooting the timeline.
