Oak Park Marina and Resort in North Rose is a full resort property sitting right on the shores of Sodus Bay, just off Lake Ontario in Wayne County. It’s one of those venues that genuinely has it all in one place: a rustic chic wedding barn with a chandelier, string lights, and a loft, two outdoor ceremony areas with bayside gazebos, on-site catering, a wedding coordinator, an inn, and four Adirondack-style cabins that sleep six each. The barn seats up to 100 inside and up to 350 with the attached tent. The Boatyard Pub and Grill is right on property for a more casual rehearsal dinner the night before, and guests who stay on site can enjoy the pool, the marina, and the full resort setting throughout the weekend.

Why we love it

Sodus Bay sunsets. That is the whole story. The way the light hits the water in the evening during the outdoor ceremony and portraits is something you genuinely cannot manufacture at an inland venue. It’s warm, it’s golden, it’s soft, and it makes every single photo look like it was taken somewhere much further away than Central New York.

The bayside gazebos also give us a really natural, picturesque ceremony backdrop that pairs perfectly with that water light, and having the whole resort setting means guests are relaxed, comfortable, and in a good mood from the moment they arrive, and that energy always shows up in the photos.
