Longview Farm & Event Center – Edmeston, NY

About this venue

Longview Farm and Event Center in Edmeston is the kind of venue that makes couples wonder why they ever even considered anywhere else. Sitting on a sprawling hilltop property in Otsego County near Cooperstown, the recently built 7,400 square foot barn is fully modern with all the features you’d want, none of the rustic-but-inconvenient quirks that older barns sometimes come with. The outdoor ceremony overlooks a breathtaking hillside with sunsets that stop people mid-sentence. After the vows, cocktail hour moves to the covered stone patio, and then the barn takes over for dinner and dancing for up to 300 guests. The full weekend rental runs Friday morning through Sunday morning, so there’s room for the rehearsal dinner and a farewell brunch without feeling rushed. Two fully furnished bridal cottages are on site, plus campsites with water and electricity for guests who want to stay close. Everything from tables, chairs, dishware, linens, fire pits, a wedding arbor, sound system, and on-site decor is included in the rental.

Why we love it

We could go on about Longview for a while, so bear with us. Those sunsets over the hillside are absolutely unreal. The way the light rolls across that open landscape during the ceremony and golden hour portraits is the kind of thing that makes couples tear up when they see their gallery for the first time. There is nowhere to hide a bad photo here because everything looks that good.

The on-site lodging situation is fantastic for couples who want their people close. Two furnished bridal cottages, one with a full salon setup and three bedrooms, mean both sides of the wedding party have a proper home base for the whole weekend. Guests can camp on site with hookups, and Airbnbs are five minutes away. The whole weekend just flows.

And the coordination team, Mark, Jan, and the whole crew, is the best we have ever personally worked with at any venue anywhere. Jan runs the day like a seasoned pro and genuinely treats every couple like they are her only couple. We have never once left Longview without feeling like the day went exactly the way it was supposed to. That level of care is rare, and it makes a real difference.
